Ok I have been looking for like 2 days now and have haven't found the problem I am running inot on any forrums here...Not that there isn't one...I just have not found it...

Ok So here is my problem...

I am running Win Media Center Edition SP2
    3.2 GHz Pentium 4
    1 Gig of RAM
    2 Optical Drives
    3.5 Floppy Drive
256 Mb NVidia GForce Video Card
Ok About a month ago (Before I found this nifty site) I caught a Trojan on my comp...It caused some problems and eventually I had to reset windows. I saved about 20 gigs of info and started out fresh (I did NOT reformat). Shortly after that My computer began to slow down tremendously. It was running simple programs at speeds it would normally run 8 programs. It is constantly using an over abundance of processor speed and memory. I thought it might be a virus resurfacing so I came here. After a long and arduous search we found nothing... It has crashed 4 times since the initial problem..But this last time I wrote down exactly what was said. I also did some research. Others have had this problem but none have solved it. It seems to be stemmed from Windows SP2? Here is what my blue screen of death said...

I have read that like 8 times now (I am a slow learner) ...I have no Idea if I did it right... I do know that the problem is caused by my ATAPI.SYS File and that some how it has put my primary IDE channel into PIO mode. If this debug sheet I posted is wrong then I do not know how to fix it??? HELP! I have been working this same problem now for over 4 weeks! I am 2 steps away from turning this piece of junk into the most expensive paperweight I will ever own. Thank you I appreciate all the help.

From what I have been reading on other sights this problem only affects those who run sp2 and can be caused by programs like alcohol 120 and other ISO files or an optical drive malfunctioning to many times... I used to have Alcohol 120 but I got rid of it a long time ago... Also the only thing I have seen that people do to fix it is revert to win sp1??? I dunno but it just does not make sense to me.

hi, i had alcohol120 once, when i uninstalled it left behind 2 virtual drivers (A347.bus and A347.sys) these messed with another burning program i have and a few other bits, nothing major though - just annoying, i deleted the offending articles from my system32 folder and not had a problem with them since, hope this helps a bit,
    i have w2kpro sp4
    (back-up just in case)
