I have an HP SR5130NX, which has a Asus built for HP motherboard M2N68-LA Ivy.
According to HP's documentation, this board is AM2 and will accept up to Athlon X2 4800+. Which was the fastest Athlon X2 available at that time, almost 2 years ago, when docs were last updated.
Contacted HP support, and all they can tell me is that it's compatible with Sempron, Athlon, and Athlon X2. What a bunch of non-helpful idiots. It uses the Nvidia MCP61 chipset, with GeForce 6150 and n430 chips.

I know that AM3 procs will work in AM2 sockets, provided the BIOS supports it. The Asus branded boards with the same chipset support the Athlon II X2s, but also show in changelogs when the BIOS was fixed to allow the new procs.
HP shows the latest BIOS was updated 12-2008 to version 5.14
I currently am using the 5-2007 ver 5.09, so I figure I may have to update, seeing how many people have problems with HP Bios updates, I'll wait until I have to.

My question: has anyone tried an Athlon II X2 Regor on this HP board?
