Athlon v Pentium..

    I don't understand this....

    An XP2400+ doesn't run at 2400mhz.

    Does this mean that a P4 2.4Ghz is faster?

    Why then would i wanna buy an Athlon that seems very expensive the the speed it seems to run at?

    i know for some reason athlons are better. I forget why but i know they are better.

    Its all a very clever marketing scheme. The idea WAS that a 2400+ was the equivilant of a 2400Mhz Pentium, but thats all changed somewhat.

    Clock speed isnt everything. My 3000+(2.2Ghz) would give a P4 3.2 a run for its money in terms of benchmarks (wouldn't beat it, but wouldnt be far off). It's all got to do with efficiency.

    And they arn't "better", they just run at lower clock speeds, thats all.
