c2d overclock destroys anything AMD including FX. If you upgrade from s939 single core, picking up an x2 will save you hundreds dollars on mobo & ram.

Kick ass heatsink and fan alright....It nearly swallows the mobo!

Nice (but don't underestimate AMD just yet)!

What's your OC equation shockwavecs? FSB x Multiplier = CPU clock!
    vcore voltage?

    Regards...

That's pretty much the same setup I wanted. I want E6400, 2GB 800Mhz, ASUS P5B Deluxe (or similar), and 7900GT(s) or the DX10 cards that are coming out.

You have the case I want as well! Stealerer! :)

lol well my settings are as follows:

    VC: 1.38xx
    VDimm: 2.20
    PCI-e: 101
    PCI: 33.33
    everything set to auto

    timings:
    4-4-4-12 4 35

    CPU FSB: 450!
    RAM: 900

    lower the multiplier to x7

    while 7 times 450 = 3150MHz... windows states 3600MHz

i had it at above 1000mhz ram but it doesnt work on these settings so i ditched it

Anyway. I had a look at the Core 2 Quad benchmarks and stuff, it seems they aren't that great, they just seem like a brute-force/power/american-muscle sorta CPU, compared with the efficient/japanese/european sorta feel of the Core 2 Duo. :p Or is it just me?

They aren't good for gaming, perform worse than the Core 2 Duo (probably because no games are made to use 4 cores, but who cares). Pretty much the only thing they're good for is server activity. Hardly worth the 800+ price tag.

Also, I can't wait until the Intel Core 2 Duo MacBooks come out.... *drools* Too bad I don't have the money. :(

Yeah... but when I'm older I'm going to be using a laptop a lot more often because I'll have a car, which means driving to places. :)

    Yay!
