I downloaded and installed the latest ATI catalyst for my Radeon 9200. I run XP, with a Pentium IV-2.6 GB processor and 512MB RAM. Now, My display is running much SLOWER and my favorite game, Sacred Undeworld won't even load. I get the box that says that sacred.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close with the two buttons to send or not send an error report. How do I get rid of this catalyst? It's not worth it.

As your running XP you can roll back the driver to the last one used... goto Device Manager and click Display Drivers > your GFX Card > Driver > Roll Back Driver > Apply

the driver will be uninstalled and the last one you used will be restored.

    owlspirit:

I've been using ATI gear a while now and never have issues by doing as follows:
    Changing drivers:
    1. Start >Control Panel >Add or Remove Programs >ATI Control Panel >Remove.
    2. Do not Restart when prompted.
    3. ATI Display Driver >Remove.
    4. Restart when prompted.
    5. Upon return to Desktop in Windows Standard display drivers, cancel offer to install drivers.
    6. Start >Run >browse to where you downloaded the new ATI Catalyst driver package and run it.
If the above doesn’t work out, download this util:
    ATI Catalyst uninstaller
    https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27 Utilities >Various >CATALYST – ATI Maintenace Utilities > cat-uninstaller.exe
This will clean your system of any ATI software along with any remnants that could be causing problems.
Use it instead of steps 1, 2 and 3 above; then continue with steps 4, 5 and 6.

    Happy trails,
