ATI or Geforce?

I'm looking to upgrade my video card in my sony vaio model PCV-RS411. Can an ATI or a GeForce graphics card be put into this model and if so which is the better brand to go with? My computer only has an integrated graphics card right now. I want this upgrade so I can play better games on the computer.

 

i don't see anything about an AGP slot on your motherboard. You may need to open it up and look for a brown slot about the white slots. if you have this slot, then you can add an AGP graphics card to your system.

 

What do you have in there now? I've been looking for information about that model & as near as I can tell it has Onboard Graphoics & no AGP slot. I could be wrong though.

I have a 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV graphics controller

 

ummm...not much. you can get a pci video card, but i doubt you'll be able to find a good enough card to play the newest games. your other option would be to replace your motherboard.
