Hello everyone, I just bought an ATI (Made by) Radeon 9800 Pro. For the most part, the card is amazing, it does get a little hot, blah blah. I'm running the card stock, I have not tampered with it whatsoever. Anyway, every 10 seconds or so when I'm playing Unreal Tournament 2004 on 1280 x 1024 resolution and all settings maxed out, the game seems to stutter. Nohting major, just a slight twitch every now and then. Sometimes the twitch lasts 2-4 seconds and I can't move. I've been told that with this card I have, and my specs, it should run perfectly without a problem. I have tried reducing the resolution down, and the settings to normal, and it STILL does this. I have tried downloading all the latest AGP drivers and ATI drivers, and this still happens. My specs are as follows:

    P4 ASUS 2.8 GHz
    150 GB Hard Drive
1 GB RAM (One stick is corsair PC 3200, the other came stock with the computer)
    ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256

If anyone can help me with this, or point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it a ton!

I forgot to mention that I did have a little trouble hooking it up. The card comes with one cable that forks into 2. It said to install one to a power source, which I think I did, and the other one to the hard drive, but I there was no outlet on my hard drive to install it into, so I just left it hanging.

Is anyone ever going to reply to this?

What card did you upgrade from.
How hot is a little hot.
You're plugin should be no problem.
Try different drivers. And be sure to remove all instances of old drivers before installing new ones using driver cleaner available here at Majorgeeks.
Newest drivers are not always best for every game.

Hi, I upgraded from an Nvidia GeForce MX 440 :| Big improvement. During play, I feel warm wind come out of the computer, but after a few hours, the wind gets hot and my card starts to not perform as good, but I'm buying a fan from new egg, I think that should solve that. Could this maybe be ram related?
