I am using ATi Tray Tools. And I would like to know how to make my Video Card overclock when I am running a certain game, how do I do this?

Also does anyone know of a Processor overclocking program and instructions on how to do it.

is yuor computer selfbuilt or a dell, HP, gateway or the like? if it isnt selfbuild, you cant OC the processor
did the videocard come with the computer? if it is, you cant OC the card

if you can, i'd recommend www.overclockers.com as they helped me BSOD my computer once

if its self built then use the BIOS to overclock your processor. ATItool can OC your card but not sure about just when running games. ASUS has the NOS program but thats for the CPU.....maybe there is something similar for video cards? i dunno

Before you start you should have a diagnostic software so you can monitor CPU and system temps, EVEREST Home (free) is good for this as OC on the Vid Card can significantly increase your system temps!:

Okay you use the ATI Tray Tools and go into the OC section then you need to open the little 3D rendering box and run it for at least an hour on your GPU, assess the text file within the ATI Tray Tools "Start Menu" after 1 hour it should have started to render "artifacts" I personally back off about 10% from the most "stablest point" (write this value down). Next reset the GPU back to stock, leave the 3D Rendering window open and this time OC the mem (Vid card RAM) again for at least an hour, read the text report once again, finding the stabliest point (write this value down). Now set the GPU and mem clocks to noted values and let it run for another hour assessing the stability (number of artifacts) save only "stable" settings as a new "Profile". Each time you want to play a game open Tray Tools and select your new profile then start your game.

MAKE SURE you are checking on your temps freq via EVE no point getting OC on the card and frying your CPU it will put stress on the CPU. Take your time doing this at least 2-3 hours (if you don't you WILL suffer in game artifacts and or an actual decrease in output quality).

For CPU OC goto the OC forum on this site and read the sticky to start with. Take your time or you will suffer instability.
    Hope this helps.
