Decided to download the recently released drivers. ATI recommended deleting the old drivers before, so I did. After mucking about in DOS style resolution I finally got the things installed.

I was looking forward to getting (maybe, possibly) higher 3D mark scores and fired up 01 (prefer that one, my scores look more impressive :)). To my horror the score was down from OC (of the proc) and DOWN from the stock!!

    Any ideas why this is?

Some new driver releases can higher a benchmark score and some lower it, swings and roundabouts! Thats why you see on benchmarking forums alot of chat about which drivers are best for benching and which are better for quality.

Me I tend to wait a short while before installing new GFX drivers, just to judge reaction to them, do the masses think they are an improvement or not over the pervious driver, then make my mind up as to installing them or not.
