Hey everybody, I downloaded an 8.8 mb upgrade of ATI RADEON HD 2400 PRO this morning and now when I boot up I get an error message:

The catalyst control center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the Displays Manager.

I checked for update and windows says I have the latest version. I checked the catalyst control center and the Driver is enabled.

I think I have two versions now because when I right click the ATI icon in the tray at the bottom right of the Desktop it shows 2 entries for ATI RADEON HD 2400 PRO.

Soooo How do I disable the old version and enable the new one. ORRRR do I roll back the driver to the previous version.

    My machine is running:

    Intel core 2 quad 6600 2.4 ghz
    3 gig mem
    32 bit OS
    WIN Vista serv pack 1

Thanks, I don't know what I'd do without you guys

I hope this helps some. But when i installed the ati radeon 300 at the I decided I wanted to hook up my tv to my pc. I did as follows:

Uninstall all drivers (save for the primary drivers needed for basic display) through your add and remove programs,

Delete all including any backups on your system of those drivers, and program files associated with them.

Then clean your registry and Temp folders.

once Done you can reinstall your graphics drivers and you should be ready to go.

    I hope this helps

Hey everybody, HI White, thanks for the info. I contacted the techs at ATI and they said basically the same.

Remove the Catalyst Control Center from Programs and Features and download Catalyst Software Sweet 8.9

For everyones info they said not to download updates through Windows Vista Update because they are outdated and you should only download updates from the ATI site. Or, of course from MG's.;)

    Thanks again

Hey everybody, hope ur all having a great weekend.

HI White, I installed ATI Catalyst Control Suite 8.9 and everything seems back to normal. No error message (knock wood). It does try to install a Yahoo tool bar, but you can install without it. Yahoo is getting as pesky as Google. It also installs a World of Warcraft icon on the desktop. Easy enough to remove. Thanks again for your help.

Good to hear all is well. I agree with you that yahoo, ask, google are truly pains in asking you to install unnecessary tool bars when all you need is to add a their search engine if you want to utilize them.
