Is there a major difference between the drivers found at ati.amd.com vs visiontek.com? I have a visiontek video card, but I got my updated driver from ati.amd.com

If a video card is from Visiontek, then does it requre a special driver from them or are all Raedon x1600 hdmi cards the same?

Generally speaking, it doesn't really matter. The chip makers (ATI) usually have more current drivers as they tend to update them much more often than the OEMs (VisionTek) do. However, with some ATI OEMs, I have found that the drivers from ATI don't work or won't install. This has happened with cards from PowerColor and Sapphire. It's been my experience that NVidia based cards are much more compatible with drivers directly from the NVidia web site than ATI-based cards are with drivers from the ATI site. Anyway, to answer your question more completely: it should matter unless the card has some 'special' features that wouldn't be included in a 'generic' driver. In either case, I'd recommend using the newest release available.
