Ati2DVAG error

I just finished building new rig. Spec. Giga P35c DS3R/ E6850/ 2G Team Xtream 800mhz/Ati x1950xt. slight OC, stable(3200). Had to rma ddr mem, but loaded and played BF2, for a few hours with no problems. ( did not OC untill had the 2 good sticks) OC vid card using ati CCC. went to play BF2 and bsod with ati2dvag infinite loop error. googled and saw many responses over the years with no real solutions. Old rig from 1.5 years ago, asus an8 mainboard/3700+/2x512 corsair xms/ ati x1800xt , OC to 2.5 stable, gpu oc through ati ccc ( 6.1version) Never had an issue, just building new rig for future install of vista and playing crysys & fuel of war.

I saw post with this error also happening with Nvida cards. No one seems to know exactly what the cause is. I read post with people attempting the solutions and saying they did not work. This is a new build, mainboard bios F4, the latest, same with ati drivers , 7.8. Question is what are my options? or where can I get old drivers for ati 6.1 ( i know, sounds nuts) or thinking 6.1 is pre release of 1950 what driver works best with it. OR should I rma it and get different card?
