I just did a clean install of windows vista ultimate and I have a program called motu symphonic instrument and when i load it in stand alone mode it loads but when i try to load an instrument it closes after windows say it has stop working.

when i load it in my music sequencer host program as a vst instrument it works fine but every time i close the motu window and open it back up (everything is cool) but then when i try so select a preset i get the error

access violation at address 6949fd07 in module 'atioglxx.dll'. read of address 00000000.

Is atioglxx.dll an ATI file or is it just an ordinary windows file? this error doesnt cause my

i have an ati all in wonder x1900 graphics card. I had similar erros with xp but in xp it crashed my program after the errors. the errors eventually went away after either ATI or motu came up with a new driver but until then the two of the companies blamed one another.

I googled this message and i found this program but dont know if its safe or even really does what it says. here is a link:

I just checked that link, and it's a download for "RegCure" which is reg cleaner of dubious integrity. Personally, I consider it to be borderline malware, but that's me. I'm sure others out there think it's the best thing since shredded lettuce. In either case, it's simply a registry cleaner or 'fixer' and is not likely to fix your problem. Yes, the file atioglxx.dll is an ATI driver file. You can try updating your ATI drivers, or check to see if the music program has a Vista update or patch. But since you had the problem before with XP, it is obviously a compatibility issue between the two programs and you may be stuck with it until one of the two companies gets it straightened out, or until you start using a non-ATI video card, or a non-Motu music program.

Yeah, I know, not a lot of help...
    :(

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the reply.

When i check my windows update history it shows that an ATI driver that failed twice, maybe I have to install it manually or something. But like I said besides the error popping up only some times that's the only problem but its not a big one because the MOTU software doesn't freeze up or anything.
