Hey, after not being able to fix my previous problem, I decided to format my comp. I did a quick format because I didn't wanna wait, and it was over 30 minutes and it still hadn't moved to 1%. After doing a quick format, when I went to install Windows XP Home Edition, I continually get the problem: "Setup cannot create the folder:
    \WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86
Setup cannot continue until the folder is created."

No clue how to get around this. Any help would be great.

If you're wanting to format, you should boot from your Windows XP disc, format the partition thru the Windows setup and let Windows reinstall itself. :)

Just as a reminder, formatting will erase all data on the current disk drive.

Attempted. No luck. Only quick formats work.

Can I assume that you are leaving a Vista installation, and re-entering XP:confused

Sorry at the point that I had created this I was attempted to completely reinstall. Previous thread was just trying to salvage what I had.

After trying to reinstall, I was presented with the same problem one again, thus why I went back to old thread.

    Sorry for any confusion.

I can't confirm it for XP; however, Vista creates a hidden partition by overlapping partitions. I found this out using Hiren's Boot CD. Give it a try, it may be your solution.
(Vista - refused to re-install, and blocked XP installation. Norton's partition manager informed me of the overlap and asked if I wanted it corrected. Problem was solved.)
