Audio and Voice Skipping

Hi there, not sure if I'm putting this in the right spot or not. I am having a problem with audio and voice chat skipping. It only skips when playing a music stream URL in a game like Second Life, or when I open up a stream url in Winamp. Voice skips and cuts out in Second Life and on messengers like Yahoo.

If I open up an mp3 in windows media player or whatever it's fine and doesn't skip.

My computer is an HP Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 2.33GHz and 4.00 GB

My sound is Realtek High Definition Audio. I'm not sure if I need to put any other information.
