Currently have a Creative Sound Blaster card and before a Revolution 7.1. The problem I’m having started a few months ago while I was still using the Revolution. The Revolution worked just fine for a week or 2 and then would just stop working one day after I started my computer. I re-installed the drivers and the card worked fine again until I started my computer the following day and I would have to re-install the drivers again. Thinking it was a problem with the card, I replaced it with the Creative Sound Blaster which worked for 2 weeks and is now doing the same thing as my last card needing to install the drivers whenever I restart my computer. Can anyone think of anything obvious I should check?

    Thanks,

    IMSA.

i had this problem once with my sound card.
the problem was that somedays the pc could not see the card in bios at start up !!!!!
so if i were you i would change slot of the card just in case the old one is problematic.
trying cleaning the slots and the card pins. hopefully you will be ok
