    Hi guys,

I'm pulling my hair out here. could somebody please help me....

I never thought that finding an on-board sound driver would be so hard.

Here are two screenshots. One of my motherboard, the other of the boards' chipset:

All I need is the audio driver but I am having a hell of a time finding it.

If anybody could help me find it they would be relieving alot of stress, lol.

Thank you all for your time.

    Hi

Sadly your images are not viewable, however I managed to copy the relievent parts of the image link to view that you have a Biostar I86PE-A4 motherboard and problem now is we have no idea what Windows version and Service Pack you are using?

At a guess I'm going with XP so your Drivers are HERE and what you need to do is follow the below as written

Install the Chipset Driver from the above link, then reboot.... DO reboot as its important to do so to install the chipset correctly as if you dont many components will nto be recognised correctly.

Then if you have XP SP2 or earlier only install the UAA HD Audio driver from HERE then install the Audio driver from below.
If you have XP SP3 then ignore the above and just install the Audio driver from HERE

Hi mate, thank you so much for the reply.

I actually ended up finding the driver shortly after posting this thread.

I had no idea that all I had to do to find the driver was use a program like everest to collect my BIOS ID and then google that to get to the manufacturers page.

Thank you so much for the reply though.

Hi yeah Everest does allow you to find all sorts fo hardware info out that will help narrow down the drivers you need for a particular motherboard or hardware.

So great that you have this sorted already and cheers for re-posting that you have fixed this issue.
