Audio Driver Utility

    Hi... Is there software to help detect the audio driver one is using that is an onboard audio... under the device manager where there is the yellow next to the audio device it does not give specific details as to what driver to install... :confused:

    I don't think that Everest will detect the onboard audio HW in this case.

    However, if you go ahead and install Everest, it will give you the mobo dets ie make and model and then you can go to the manufacturer's website and download the relevant audio drivers.

    Failing that open the case up and look for the make and model of the mobo on the pcb itself.

    :eek: Hi. If you open up the case, and look at the various chips on the mobo (motherboard), you may even spot the audio chip and get enough info to locate the correct drivers from that. I have done that numerous times. Be sure to unplug the power cord before opening up the case. Safety first. Good night and good luck.
