audio editing software

i have a friend that has a recording studio and wants to know what the most expensive audio editing software was i told him i would look into it please let me know

 

Why does he want the most expensive? I would think he'd want something functional, not expensive. Just because a certain program costs a lot, doesn't mean it's better than a less costly program. Instead of just throwing some names of programs at you, I'd strongly suggest that this guy, if he owns his own recording studio, take some time to research the various studio-quality applications available to recording professionals. There's a lot of 'em out there, and they vary greatly in price from about $100 to over $1000. Many of them have a base system, and you can add on other packs like different sample packs, beats, mixing packs and effects, and so forth. If he is in the business, he should talk to other professionals and see what they use and then research those programs so he can decide what would work best for his situation. I could be wrong, but I don't think that many recording pros hang out in the Major Geeks software forum, so this question should be asked of those in the business. If you want good accounting software, you talk to an accountant; if you want good architectural software, you talk to an architect....

 

he is currently using a program called cubase

cubase 4 is around a grand i use cubase 3 and i love it.
