Audio Help

Hi I will try this again. Yesterday I was asking for help with a driver. Now I don't know if that is what I need , I went back and opened the control panel and clicked on sound and the first thing is audio, it says no audio device. I think I have attached my everest report. As i said yesterday I was trying to clean up some of the junk off my pc and evidently deleted my audio. I didn't think I did but anyway I tried to go back and do a restore to a earlier date, my pc said that was going to happen then when it was to shut down and reboot it stuck. the monitor and pc looked to be shut down but the HD didn't stop you could tell that it was still running by the sound and the little light on the front of the pc telling you that it was still running. Anyway long story short I eventually did a complete restore, wiped the hd clean and started over. I thought the restore disk would load everything back the way it was when I bought the machine, but still didn't have sound. I tried trouble shooting to no luck. Think my sound card is fried?

 

From the research I did, it appears that your audio is old school RealTek AC97, so the following driver should work:
RealTek AC'97 Audio Drivers
I looked through your report and found no mention of any audio device other than the modem, which is odd, unless the audio is disabled in the BIOS. So if the driver doesn't work, get into the BIOS and poke around and look for the on board audio and be sure it's enabled.... hopefully the on board sound chip isn't "fried". If it is toast, you can buy a new basic generic sound card at any PC shop for under $30US, or a used one at your local used PC shop for half that.
