ok so i have a prob that happened to me about a month ago and for the life of me i cant find an answer on Google,

but i dont have computer speakers so i have been using a aux, cable to run from the green port in the back to a line-in to my stereo but its not working any more and neither is the green port in the front of my case,
i used 2 sets of headphone for both front and back still nothing borrowed my friends PC speakers and no sound... so i have no idea how to fix this i have a 560ti gfx card that has HDMI so i moved my computer close to my tv to hook up dual monitors so i been useing the tv as my computer speakers but this have become very annoying so i was wondering how can i fix this?

Note: when i hook up headphones to either the front or back and turn the sound up to max i can hear a light static but when i click test i hear nothing but just the very quite static but i swear if i listen hard enough i can kinda hear the test sounds...

also i have done just about all i can think of i have checked the bios i have unistalled the driver many times and even did a role back on the driver nothing is working...

if u have questions ill answer and one last note i have checked the mixer everything is on max nothing is turned down and my tv has been disabled as a sound source im just stumbed

    THANKS in advance!

    Hi,
Do you have any Yellow ! in your device manager, especially for sound/vid/and game controllers?
Can you please download and run either Everest (OS XP) or Speccy (OS Vista/Win 7)....

    (XP)... http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

    (Vista/Win 7)... http://majorgeeks.com/Speccy_d6358.html

attach the report in your next post. Do you plug your jack into the I/O plate or an Expansion slot, just so I know if I am dealing with an on board or PCI card issue.

First it is an on board sound card, second there is nothing yellow on my Audio drivers.

i have uninstalled all the drivers relating to audio restarted then after Nvidia forces there HD audio drivers back on and the one microsoft will give u i redownload a fresh copy of the HD audio drivers from realtek and still nothing sound is coming out as long as its pluged in the front of the case with my headphones but its only a mild hissing noise if i plug in the back its dead silence. i have done this a number of times and get the same results, hell just for fun i decided to try all six ports in the back to see if sound would come out wile a cd was playing lol still nothing...

also might add i unbluged the HD audio cable from the mother board and pluged the AC'97 cable in but i cant get the driver to install cuz it says somthing about windows cant varify the publisher so after trying to click ignore a number of times i gave that up and repluged in the HD audio. i have it disabled now at the moment since its not working any ways mainly cause i cant stand to mess with it ne more at the moment or it might end up out the window "i live on 3rd floor" lol any ways to get sound out of it now i have it hooked up to my TV witch u will see is labled LK25 in this report file... any ways here is the info i hope u can figure out what i cannot =(

    Hi,

Download this driver and save it to your desktop.. do not run it yet ....

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-275.33-whql-driver.html

Ok I need for you to download and install Driver Sweeper.. do not run it yet ..

    http://majorgeeks.com/Driver_Sweeper_d6171.html

Uninstall the Nvidia drivers and any Realtek drivers from Programs. Re-boot into Safemode (f8 at boot).

    >>>>>>>>>>>YOU MUST COMPLETE THIS IN SAFE MODE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Run Driver Sweeper...... you will see a list of options in the lefthand side of the main screen, select the Nvidia and Realtek options, click Analyze, click Clean please run this button twice as it will clean upany residual leftovers.
Boot into Windows and click out of any 'Found New Hardware' prompts and install the Nvidia driver from your desktop.

Ok, lets try installing the motherboards chipset driver and audio driver, these can be found here... http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/down...pTITLE_ON_SCREEN=IP35+Pro&pSOCKET_TYPE=LGA775

1.) You must install the Chipset Driver first then re-boot......

    Intel Chipset Driver v 9.0.0.1007.

2.) After re-boot install the Audio Driver then re-boot....

Realtek High Definition Audio Driver R190.

You must re-boot for your system to recognise the changes.

I am now starting to think that there maybe some sort of conflict with the sound and your graphis card, can you uninstall all of the Nvid drivers/software and remove the card from your motherboard, boot up and test to see if you have sound back.
Have you just recently installed the gfx and then got your issue?? is this a custom built PC or a OEM branded one?? Make and model and any service tags will help also.

This is a bit of a cunumdrum :confused.
Go to start> control panel > Admin tools > services > scroll down to the windows audio and check that it is started and set to automatic> right click on the audio> properties> dependicies tab check to see what is in the dependicies.
    Try the Microsoft Fix also....

Hey sorry that I couldn't sort your issue out, it could be that your onboard card has gone bad so thankfully your other half will allow you to get a new card for your system, don't forget to turn the onboard card off in the bios so as you don't get any conflicts.

    You could also try :

Check in your bios that sound is enabled; del/f1/f2 at start up

Go start menu - run - type in msconfig

In services make sure windows audio is ticked/enabled
In boot.ini/advanced make sure pcilock is not on

If you did a clear out of your startup ( also in msconfig ) to speed up your pc then you can do a reenable those startup files, but realtek don't usually place anything there, 3rd party software/OEM's might though :)

Also disabling microsoft uaa (before reinstalling your sound driver) in device manager/system worked for me on one of my drives

If it worked then just stopped it's usually another program used in the meantime or a virus/malware, but I doubt the latter in your case or I think you would have other symtom's/prob's.

    Hope this helps
