have a problem after installing windows 7 , i have no sound , any help would be great

Sorry Paul, i should of added these instructions as to how to get the log and attach it......

click File > Save as Text File, then attach the log as per instructions below

You need to install the chipset driver first....

then the audio driver next.....

http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp

you must reboot after each install so the changes can be recognised by your system.

I was to late in editing my post .....
you need to put these details in the drop down boxes on the via driver page (see attachment) ...

 

first install was fine but keep getting , we cant find HD audio device when installuing the next :confused

 

got it sorted now Iain , your a star pal

What did you do to get it sorted? When I was on the Via site, it said your chipset was not supported by VIA drivers for windows 7, only the built in driver of Win7 would work.

 

Hello tgell,

Though Via say that they do not support the chip set they have a universal one... VIA Hyperion 4 in 1 ...that works very well on their supposedly unsupported chipset, even though it says it only supports 95/98/Me/2000/XP/NT
