I have a screen popping up when I get to the desktop after booting up that wants something, presumably an audio driver, installed.

In the hardware manager, there's a yellow question mark next to:

    Audio ... High Definition Audio-Bus

I had a similar problem with a previous fresh install of windows. Under the heading in the Hardware manager for "other hardware", except last time it was for the PCI which I never did identify.

My sound is working, so I don't need whatever it is asking me to install, however I would like to get rid of the pop-up that appears everytime I boot up asking me to install a driver.

Any suggestions? What happens if I just disable that piece of hardware? If anything goes wrong, can I get it back or does it just disappear from the Hardware manager?

    Hi Norgates

What Windows version and Service Pack are you using?

I would install the chipset driver for your model PC or Motherboard and then reboot and install the Audio driver and see how you go.
