audio problem with Windows 7

upon updating our computers to windows 7 32x OS, we find that all of them that have the Gigabyte GA-8I945G Pro motherboard have no sound. The driver is up to date and says it us working, the bios is F10, the indication is that no speakers or headphones are plugged in. I have tried the headphone jack in front as well as the alternate speaker out jack in back. It does not register that anything is plugged in nor does it open the usual sound management interface that asks what did you just plug in. Gigabytes tech support had no ideas and also had no GA-8I945G Pro motherboards to test and asked me to send them one of mine, that was not very encouraging:banghead. I am hoping that your collective experience will be more help.

 

After flashing the bios and downloading the original chipset from gigabyte and the realtech motherboard driver I did get it working again. I am thinking it was the realtek driver that was the issue. also, before the fix, the device manager did not show any problems nor did the troubleshooter. It just said no speakers were plugged in. anyways, problem solved.
