audio problems

My speakers have begun to emit scratchy feed-back noise, even when the system is idle. Before I start pulling things apart, I'd like to hear your trouble shooting suggestions. I did delete the Nvidia sound drivers while maintaining the Realtek High Def Audio drivers (I had both until I read that they conflicted, though it was not a problem for years). The Creative SBX suite also worked without issue for years.

Since computer speakers typically have integrated amplifier circuits, I would try another set of speakers just to make sure the noise is coming from the computer and not from a fault in the speaker electronics.

Also, make sure you have good ground connections between devices. I generally recommend plugging everything into the same wall outlet to ensure a "common" ground is present.

Do you "see" an issues when you "hear" these sounds?

Beyond that, sadly, you failed to tell us ANYTHING about your computer. We don't even know if a notebook or PC, if running W8.1, Linux, or MacOS.

I just read your response. I would have been monitoring the post but I've been doing some re-arranging of my system. After swapping monitors back and forth it appears that my motherboard is breaking down; the PCI-E slot I've been using for my GPU is faulty, so for now I switched to the second slot, which meant changing PCI slots for audio and wireless adapter. This led to having to re-install SBX drivers. A fortuitous cycle of events, because even the audio problems have ceased it appears or should it be sounds? My apologies for not giving system info in my original post.

"Or should it be sounds?" I don't understand the question.

My lighthearted play with words, since we cannot see sound it would not "appear", technically.
