Audio/Sound Issues

Hey, ok so I am a bit noobish so bear with me, but I am having a problem with my audio driver.

I cannot hear anything and certain programs do not work due to error messages such as these:

"Error.
Client closing due to the sound driver error. Install or reinstall the sound driver. (errorCode:31)"

So I went to my device manager and noticed the PCI Input Device and two Multimedia Audio Controllers having a yellow question mark on their icon.
When I went to details I got this message:

"This device is not configured correctly (Code 1)
To reinstall drivers for this device, click Reinstall"

I tried this to no avail. So I did some research, and before posting here I downloaded SiSoftware Sandra to make sure I got the right information and hope to somehow find a way to solve this.

Here's what I was given for my sound card information.

The best i can tell is Asus's website is down, is it a HP 1100, or a Dell 4700, give me a name and a model number, should be on front of the case. ed

 

Well honestly it doesnt say, and this comp was a gift put together by a friend, individual parts from here and there... hmm but seeing what I can find.
