    Hi guys

I have some audio trouble with xp home. I have updated all updates including drivers. It sounds muffled and kinda scratchy. It occured after a windows repair install.

If it sounds scratchy or muffled, it could be the audio connection itself.

Try plugging headphones into the audio out. Does that help? If so, then it could be your audio plug.

    Try different speakers also.

Is this onboard sound, as in integrated? Or is this an expansion card? Do you have both?

What manufacturer is this computer? Is it a dell? Did you download the dell drivers, or did you download the soundmax drivers from soundmax itself?
