I have been undertaking research on Whirlpool.net.au and I beleieve I have narrowed down the choices to 3 ISP but want some feedback before signing on the dotted line.

Will be in Runcorn, Qld., Australia. The area has ADSL and the previous tenant had iiNet on @ 512/128 on at the house I am moving to.

I want at least 512/128 shaped to 64 (with no EXTRA fees) and at least 10 upto 25Gbs no longer than 6month contract. Would consider bundling.

The 3 ISP's I am looking at are iiNet, AAPT or TeeGee (TG) any suggestions?!? They all have diff offers but TG has VERIDAS, which some have said is bad, I have no idea.

well IMO dont go with AAPT, because well... to put it nicely, their customer service is absolute crap (wanted to swear majorly there but resisted the urge  ) , you spend an hour on the phone to them on hold and then they tell you that they are too tied up to take your call and hang up on you. Personal experience so if you have somethin different, let him now :p. as for TG ive never myself heard of them so i cannot give any advice there but with iiNET , i hear that they are preety good all round but they sometimes have trouble latency wise if you play online games like Counterstrike etc.

well thats my 2 bob worth :)

I think you would be right with AAPT. The other ISP I rang have a sales line and the smart ones a quick to answer (20-30 secs) this and chat to the potential customers whereas AAPT took at least 5 mins and iPrimus even longer. You can't help but feel if there this slow with potential sales what will they be like for tech difficulties. I'm hearing you.

TG is offering 25Gb 512/128>64, 150 free local calls (after 13c ea), line rental for $79.95 and after 3 months $59.95 for 4 months, no lock in con, etc etc this is the way I'm swaying but they have VERIDAS (some were saying this bad in whirlpool forums????).

Veridas is basically a backbone provider, but the internet they provide is more often than not, cheaper than other conventional providers (althought cannot say this about telstra  ) and basically gives you an overall slightly slower network capability than conventional internet. So basically, if you do only gaming dont go with TeeGee. Although...

by what ive seen from the whirlpool forums, alot of people have been having trouble with TeeGee double billing etc but couldnt remove themselves from it because of a contract, you on the other hand having a no lock-in contract should be able to get out at any time.

On that note though, your decision is really you own, because as i have said previously, i have never been with Teegee or even iiNet, although AAPT was a disaster :p .

Thanks for your help have decided to go with Internode after many hours of research. Although TG appeared good there are just to many negative comments about Veridas as the backbone provider (as one poster said you could spend days trolling through the number of negative threads on Veridas, and they were right). iiNet seemed fairly good but at the end of the day the only way to get better value was to bundle the phone (line rental @$34.95, loc 17c, nat ~$2 for 2 hours) then 512/128>64 10G+10G (peak/off) for $49.95.

    Decided on: Internode

HOME-512-Value, 20 GB, Excess Shaped (64kb) $49.95 /mo (no lock in con but $65 exit fee if leaving within the first 6 months).
    With
    Telstra Budget: line $18.50, loc 30c, nat $3 btwn 7-12pm else 25cmin.

Therefore $49.95+$18.50= $68.45 as the barebones.

The main reason I went with Internode is after trolling whirlpool.net.au for many hours I could not find 1 "genuine" negative comment on their service (speed, support, reliability, etc etc) just praises and there were way to many for it to just be Co. reps. Have a look yourself in the future.
