Auto refresh programs

Anybody with a good, free, and safe auto refresh program for either IE or chrome? (Firefox if necessary, but Chrome has been working quite well for me), Windows 7 machine.

A search for this yields a number of results, but I'm very cautious when it comes to downloads from anywhere but MG and MS.

Reason- I've been playing a game on facebook and keep getting notified of opportunities too late, beat out almost everytime. Even once today that indicated the message as being only 5 seconds old and constantly hitting refresh isn't an enjoyable choice. These opportunities occur once everything 30 sec to 5 or 10 minutes.

I'll bet there's a lot of on-line players here, what do you use??

Perhaps there's a tool on MG for this, but I couln't find it.
