autocomplete malfunction ie6

Hello:
No help from the other forums, but I've heard this is the best. I have all the autocomplete boxes properly checked via tools/options etc, but recently on ebay only I have lost the autocomplete forms function. When I search on ebay there is no dropdown list to select from. It used to work on this computer(p4w winxp pro) and still works on other computers w win98se. I have modified the registry value to allow a reinstallation of ie6, but the reinstall remembered favorites and settings, so it also remembered the flaw that prevents proper function of autocomplete. I also did a repair reinstallation of xp pro w/o help. I had this same problem on an older system w w95, but it was cured when I did a full install of w98se. Does any one know why this problem exists and how to fix?

 

What gives here? Is there a moderator that reviews these postings?Would someone at least acknowledge that they are stumped by this problem or maybe try to help???

 

Thanks to all who posted replies and tried to help--OOPS, wat a minute, that's no one! I now have a solution to this autocomplete problem. Of course, I will post the solution in as timely and helpful a fashion as the numerous replies I received before I solved the problem on my own!!! Thanks for nothing, major geeks!

 

well for one, I totally missed this thread. Sometimes they slip through. Gotta love getting pissed at people who VOLUNTEER their time to help others who can't help themselves.

Can you take a screen shot of Ebay where you're missing the search function so we can see what you see... please post the image in this thread.

Hey, now -- this is the best. Sometimes I've had to come and "bump" my post back to the top of the page a few times to "draw attention to it". But that's no big deal. There's a lot going on here. I know there's someone here that has an answer to this problem (not me though)

I just popped in to defend Major Geeks because, as I told someone else, if it wasn't for the great answers I've been given, my computer would be a big old ugly looking paper weight!
