AutoDim at Idle for laptops

I was wondering if there was anything out there for this. I seen an ACER laptop at CompUSA that had this feature where the screen was dim and when you selected certain areas of the screen it would highlight that area. or make brighter. anything thoughts?

This may not answer your specific request but some laptops go to autodim when on battery power and brighten up when on AC power.
Not sure if my Toshiba does. Will have to check it out.
I use it mostly on AC power, with battery removed. Bazza
