automatic update xp sp2 and avast4

    jarcher I can't handle a title

    ok
    I get a prompt saying that I need to turn on automatic updates
    and I am asked if I would like to do it

    but thie thing is. . its on

    services.msc even says so
    the automatic update tab says so

    do I need to reregister windows. . I wonder?


    WTH?

    and I am having a hard time registering for avast
    I have gotten two emails with a license key and neither one works. . .

    That is a Winsock error. At a command prompt, type: netsh winsock reset

    Press Enter. Wait for it to finish and reboot
