Automatically Sync Outlook.com People With Google Contacts

Is there a way to automatically sync outlook.com people with google contacts? To clarify, I am not referring to Microsoft Outlook. I'm referring to People (Contacts) at outlook.com (formally hotmail). Also, I am not talking about exporting/importing. I've already done that. Google contacts are the same as "people".

I'm trying to have both address books (People @ outlook.com & Google Contacts) stay synchronized. If I make a change in one address book, to have it changed in the other.

You just need to add your Gmail account to People > Settings

 

Unfortunately, I have already done this procedure to no avail. I automatically receive email from gmail in a separate folder at outlook.com.... but any changes I make in google contacts are not synced into 'People' at outlook.com.

 

Your Gmail account in Mail has an option to sync contacts and calendars every x hours. I'm not sure whether it's that or the Gmail account in People that gets contacts sync working but mine is fine.
