Anybody use or know anything about this? Not near my XP machine to try it out, but looked interesting to fiddle with. Woulda submitted to MG, but I can never figure out how I'm supposed to do that.

Maybe I don't understand, but isn't this the same thing as the Automatic Update feature in Windows XP?

I'm assuming it's more informative than www.windowsupdate.com's applet. It's also not web-based and doesn't require IE. So it will say "oh, this and this are installed, but you don't have this or this". Installation history does that, too, I guess. Kinda. It also has a number of other features seen here. It'd be great if it ever got to the point to downloading service packs, applying patches in the correct order, updating Office, etc, but the program is still early.

I have tried this myself its in the form of a Winrar file which you need to extract before running, the extracted size is well over a gig so i suggest making a folder to extract it too then you can delete it after you have installed all your chosen options
It gives you a choice of what to install from all the Windows updates since SP1,Direct X 9,Media Player 9,various Windows Power Toys and numerous reg tweaks like disabling Messenger,Auto Updates etc etc
Quite handy if you are doing an install for someone on dial-up, and you dont have to reboot between updates unlike Windows update where you have to install Direct X seperately.

I have DX9, SP1a and WMP slipstreamed into the XP install CD.
I wonder if the AutoPatcherXP updater could be used to make an install CD that needs no updates?
