Autoplay issue from uninstalled media players

I recently uninstalled RealPlayer 11 and a couple of other programs from my Windows Vista Home Premium computer because I had found better alternatives.

When I load a CD-ROM or similar media, however, I find that RealPlayer is still shown as one of the options in the autoplay menu's list of programs I'm invited to use. Only this time it is shown without the RealPlayer logo.

How can I configure the list of options so that uninstalled programs aren't shown? (I still want to be given a choice rather than default to a single program or action, but I don't want non-installed software showing.)

I uninstalled RealPlayer via the Windows control panel, then manually deleted all remaining files from the program. After that, I ran a redundant files and registry clean-up using CCleaner in the expectation that this would erase all trace of it.

I'm having the same problem with the media player from Nero 8, which I uninstalled recently too. It shows up in the list of options, again without a proper icon.

Windows Media Player also shows up in the same list of programs without its icon. I would expect WMP to be there, of course, because it hasn't been uninstalled, but it would be nice to get the icon back. Any ideas?

Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
