When a cd/dvd is inserted in the appropriate drive setup.exe/autorun.exe/autorun.inf do not get activated

WinXP Pro SP2 running gamedrive for a virtual drive which has it's own setting for autorun, with no difference either way on physical cd drives. Settings under properties for each drive are set with autoplay set to "prompt me each time." This problem has happened more than once and the only solution I have found is to reinstall Win XP. Is there a key or value set wrong or missing in the registry? I searched the registry for autoplay and autorun but didn't really understand what I saw. :(

Autorun is the value. The numbers should say it all, 1 is enabled, 0 is disabled.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Make sure the value for NoDriveTypeAutorun is set to 91 (hexidecimal)

If you have a Lexmark printer try uninstalling it and testing it again. Sometimes the Lexbce service breaks autorun. Don't ask me why, but it is true.
