Is there any way to set remote assistance (on the server or client end) to automatically accept invitation and to also automatically turn control over to the person that was invited to help fix the so called system!!??

A little further clarification...If my aunt e-mails me a remote assistance invitation...and I choose to accept it, then she has to be right there at the computer to accept my connection to her and then to allow me full control!! That's all well and good, but...what if I do something that requires the sytem to be restarted?? So then I have to call her and have her on stand-by in order to accept my connection to her system and give me control AGAIN!! What's got me thrown is that I've of people fixing other peoples computers via remote assistance while they where on vacation!! And I know the problem they had, had to have required the fixer restarting their comp and connecting again!!!!

So am I missing something here, or am I unknowingly dreaming up something here?????

Even as an Administrator the User has to acknowledge the prompt when using Remote Assistance. How about using Remote Desktop? It does not require someone at the other end and remains locked from locked from actions done locally. She would have to check the box under System Properties on the Remote Tab.

If i'm understanding you correctly...you're saying to use remote desktop, but unfortunately, we are both using XP Home, and to my understanding...you have to have XP Pro on one of the machines in order to use it!!

Unless you know something I don't?????

Sorry, didn't think about Home vs. Pro, OS of choice was not specified. It screws me up enough since I'm getting ready to take the XP Admin 70-270 test and I mostly use Home.

So I guess that I'm just stuck with the way it is, huh!!????

    BTW...good luck with the test!!!!
