    HELLO EVERYBODY!
Could someone please help me with avast! anti virus. I downloaded and installed it, but when I try to run it I get an error message saying:

The OLEACC.DLL file is linked to missing export USER32.DLL:GetWindowModuleFileNameA

Does anyone know how I can fix this?
    I am running win 95 OSR2.
    Thanks.

hello again, I tried unistalling and reinstalling Avast, but I still get the same error message:

The OLEACC.DLL file is linked to missing export USER32.DLL:GetWindowModuleFileNameA

I checked my computer and I do have a USER32.DLL FILE. Maybe the Module file is missing from USER32.DLL??

    1. Uninstall Avast
    2. Rename C:\Windows\System\OleAcc.dll to OleAcc.old
    3. Reinstall Avast

Nothing wrong with trying to help! But it's always a good idea to go to the source (if that's possible).

Hello everybody, sorry the wife was complaining I was spending too much time on the computer (at Major Geeks). But I'm safe now she's sleepin.

Hello Boccemon, I emailed avast TECH support and they said it works with windows 95 perfectly. It's not like here though, it took over a day to get a reply.

Hey Alanc , how r u. I'll give that a shot and c how it works. Thanks for helping me out. I can't say enough good things about MG'S.

chas, How's the baseball team doing. Still winning I hope. I paid 2 grand for this machine back in Jan 98 and I want TO MAKE SURE GET MY MONEY'S WORTH! LOL. As soon as I sell my house and get this move over and done I'M going to get a new machine with the latest tech. If you think I ask a lotta questions now , wait til I get my new machine. :D I just need this one to last til then, Though I will keep this one around as a back up.

A humble attempt to redeem myself:

I cut/pasted this from the Avast! forums:

I have installed Avast! 4 home. I have go through all the steps required but when I try to write the registration number by clicking the (a) icon nothing happens. I also tried by clicking the direct access from my desktop and this message appears: The OLEACC.DLL file is linked to missing export USER32.DLL:GetWindowModuleFileNameA.

    Can anybody help me?

    Do you have Windows 95?
    Please, take a look here:

    Probably you will have to:
    1. uninstall avast!
    2. delete (or rename) the file OleAcc.dll in your system directory
    3. reinstall avast!

    Wellcome to forums! http://forum.avast.com/YaBBImages/wink.gif

Hi Geek! Yeah my wife just went to bed too. Now it's clear sailing until my eyes won't stay open. Baseball teams (yes plural) are doing just great. And I just got in at about 11:00 pm from oldest son's Stan Musial game (they lost it in the last two innings). That's okay between the two of us we have 5 more games on Sat & Sun. Maybe we'll come out on top.

Yeah keep the Win95 PC running, and get one more for each OS, and then you'll really become a Major Geek!!! :D

No need to redeem yourself Boccemon. It can be misinterpreted. All those links point out one thing, it's not incompatible with Win95, it just takes some additional steps to make it work with Win95!

Thanks Boccemon, I appreciate you looking into it further for me , Yes I'm running win 95. so I'll give that a shot. I guess Avast must be running though because when I log onto the internet it auto updates itself. I just wanted to do a manual scan with it. ( you know ; new toy syndrome) Thanks again for the help.

hey chas outta 5 games I'm sure you guys will win some. Hope you both win em all.

If I do that I will become a Major Geek BUT I'LL probably be sleeping on the couch with Rex. LOL

Sorry Alan I missed the move it to chest part. That worked. So if my system works normally after scan is complete and I reboot . should I delete it from chest or will leaving it there be OK/

  27. alanc

    alanc MajorGeek
