Avast or AVG for 64 bit?

Okay for XP Pro x64 or do I need to do some more research and make another download?

 

You're going to have a hard time finding 64-bit software. 32-bit versions should run just fine.

 

If you choosing between free antivirus for x64 then choose avast. But for paid x64 antivirus choose NOD32.

I know that AVG free doesn't work with x64, I haven't tried Avast yet. I'm supposed to get NOD32 for a one year free updates but they haven't talked to me yet. I haven't heard of any other AV that is compatible with XP x64. This is one reason I'm not using my x64 trial XP very much. There's not much support around though drivers are getting better.

OK, AVAST works with x64, or at least it installs fine. I did try AVG last week and it didn't load. I'm surprised that AVAST loaded. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the info Brandon.
