Ok go to the little blue ball in your task bar right click on it. Once you do that start avast let it run in your memory and the like once that is done go to settings and click on Schedule Boot-Time Scan and it will ask you to restart and when you restart everything will look like you are going it windows but avast will begin hope it helps you.

Ok so I did a virus check on my brothers comp! and it came out to have 565 things found, is there anyway I could delete them all in one, or do I have to do it one by one, what does the Chest do?

Avast just doesnt lighlight non-malware as in cookies like some other applciations, if its found that much malware its likely to be bumped up in numbers by each registry and file link, but malware is malware, so DomLuc's advice to seek help in our malware forum and the RRMF guide is the way to go.

If unsure, then create a System Restore Point as an infected restore point is justifiable if deleting malware as restoring to an infected SR point is better than restoring to NONE if things go wrong. Can iirc press CTRL and highlight all the files you need in the Virus Chest or Shift and Down Arrow.
