AVG 5 to 7 upgrade problem

Chaz, Nickadsl, Bigbazza, somebody, everybody.......HELP !
I uninstalled the older AVG (5.0) to install the newer one (7.0 ? ); the uninstall removed everything but the icon in the system tray, and I could'nt find any thing to remove it, sooooo, I downloaded the newer AVG and it's scanning, but it DOESN"T show up in my settings , control panel , add/remove programs thingy !! So what have I done and how do I fix it ? Oh yeah, I was gonna uninstall the newer AVG and just do a new install, but a window comes up to "uninstall Windows ME" then how to put in the disk to re-install Windows ME. What is the problem and how do I fix it ??? PLEASE somebody RSVP !
