    WHATS UP!!!:p...

once again thanks to whom ever answers my post here..

im finally going to start using my XP computers..
i figured i should use them before the Microsoft end of life for them..

is the MS OS 7 at end of life yet?..

seems like by the time MS finally gets Half the bugs worked out..

and software developers finally get thier products working for the lastest fad OS..
    its END OF LIFE

yeah just a little frustrated i have to type in a fourm just to find out if i can use some software...

    sorry...heres my question...
im wondering if i can use AVG 8.5 anti-Virus (free version)..
in my computer i just clean installed a Slip-Streamed XP pro SP3 OS 32Bit on...

    why am i asking
    read this here..
DOWN TOWARDS THE BOTTOM Where it says important Notice

    link
AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 8.5 System Requirments

its down towards the botom where it says important notice..

Why im asking is because NOW before i install ANYTHING i read the
Developers Home Page..and read the system requirements..

im confused because it does not Actually Say XP pro SP 3...

am i over thinking things here?.

im SO SORRY if this seems like a dumb question..
im just getting tired of trying Software and have it MESS UP my computers..

do you think i should try spending time reading and learning to use something like
SANDBOX..or some Virtual Operating system to try out stuff im Worried about?..
insted of bothering NICE people like you MajorGeek team players..:(

do you think that would save time in the long run insted of swapping hard drives i Image..

yeah i feel stupid asking this..
and i guess i could have posted my question in the AVG fourm..
But you guys have NEVER steered me in the wrong direction..
and i have always gotten the correct advise here in your guys fourm..

    i guess i'll stop typing now..lol..:p..
THANKS SO MUCH FOR EVEN READING THIS

Hi mikessmith, that is a VERY good question, and I say that, because I have Windows XP Pro SP3 2003server and 32 bit! I was going to download it in December, but after looking at that link,
I doubt if it will handle us...:confused Have you checked the MG downloads? Maybe one of the elder geeks can answer that question...

I have Trend Micro now, but that will be expiring soon, and I had a rather lengthy talk with TM today, and it seems they don't want to renew it... yeah, I thought it strange too... But, what to do? First thought for me, was "Oh, I'll just download AVG.. I am having second thoughts now...:confused

I'll have to agree with you on Microsoft too. Just when things are going great, they throw in the monkey wrench.... rolleyesI'll go and check MG downloads, and see what it says... Be back shortly ;)

Those are the minimum requirements for each of the listed operating systems. It will run on XP SP3.

    HEY..TC and Just...

thanks for replying to my Babble..lol..

yeah just wanted to make sure..
    better safe then sorry...
thats why im looking...reading and asking...

yeah it was a little confusing what AVG said..

it actually does not say minimum requirements anywere..
but i guess you could deduct that about the hardware..
    cause..
    * Intel Pentium 300 MHz
    * 30 MB free hard drive space (for installation)
    * 256 MB RAM..
is kinda getting old by todays standards..

but theres ALOT of operating systems listed..
    and i was thinking..

    its showing..XP.. XP SP2..and XP Pro SP1 64bit...
but its not showing SP3 anywhere..

i thought what the heck..maybe it had a problem with SP3..

yeah now im thinking of it..
im going to post on thier fourm.
and ask why it dosent say anything about..XP pro Sp3..
when it says XP Sp2..and XP Pro 64bit..and XP...
and maybe point that out to them at AVG..

yeah Thanks alot for answering My post Just And TC..
    yeah thanks alot!!!
