    Hello,

I have AVG Free Edition. However, I have to deactivate the email scanner if I want to receive any emails. If the email scanner is activated, then when I send/receive a box appears that says 'AVG E-mail Scanner. AutoPOP3: Connecting to bt1.mail.vip.ukl.yahoo.com' and the toolbar icon rotates.

After 60 seconds an Outlook Error Message pops up, saying that the POP3 server hasn't responded in 60 seconds. And then I see:

The server responded with an error. Account: 'mail.btopenworld.com', Server: 'mail.btopenworld.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

    Can anyone help??

    Thanks!

What firewall are you using? Try disabling it and see if that works. If so, check your firewall settings for some kind of Email Protection and turn it off.

I had something like this happen once, (I don't recall the exact details) but I re-installed AVG and everything worked fine after that. Dunno if it was just a glitch or what, but sometimes the easiest thing works!

Sorry if this doesn't help ya, just thought that I'd throw it out there.
