After a few years of using the AVG freeware with no issues, I got a Windows Defender message that my freeware AVG 2012 needed updating. I no longer saw the AVG icon in the tray. I went to programs and tried to open, but it won't open.
Deciding to try my Charter Security Suite instead, I tried to remove AVG. It won't uninstall, however. When I click uninstall, a box appears then immediately dissappears.
Do I have a virus or malware? Help!

    Greetings, go2ri2l...

You might try the AVG Remover (note the different links for the 32- and 64-bit versions)...
