When I installed my AVG, I don't remember setting up an account for email scanning, yet when I open up the program it says that it is enabled. I really don't recall. Was there a setup or was it automatic(Darn Senior moments.)

IIRC it enables email scanning, both incoming and outgoing, by default. Easy enough to check its settings; double-click on the Systray icon.

Thanks, Just noticed that it only works in Microsoft Outlook, and not Outlook Express. Is that correct?

Should work in Express as well. There's a button in the email setup area to enable OE. I don't have it at work, so can't point you to the right tab, but look for it; it's in there.
