Avg Free

    AVG has notified me that my free version has expired.

    Operating win 7.
    Any suggestions for another free antivirus? Looking at TotalAV presently.

    I've run MS Security Essentials and malwarebytes - paid on our 4 Windows 7 computers. You'll note that MS Security Essentials is still being updated.

    I'll have to search to see where the download is available. I've had it on our computers since about 2010. (oldest of the four computers)

    and I think you can download the 32 bit or 64 bit of Security Essentials. This is the same as Windows Defender on Windows 8, 10 and 11. Windows Defender included with Windows 7 is not very good.

    I didn’t know free versions of AV software expired. Sounds like it could be a scam message.
    I would try Microsoft’s own security app as plodr recommends.
