AVG or Avast, Less Resources?

Maybe it's because I'm so used to AVG that I didn't like avast, but it also seemed to use more resources. I uninstalled avast, and put AVG back on, and will continue to use AVG, but I was just wondering if anyone else could see something I'm missing. I know it's not the biggest deal, I'm just curious. AVG uses only about 4 MB, and avast used something like 8 MB. No big deal, I know!

 

Avast has more features, more resource usage. if you don't use the p2p scanner or IM scanner, you'll see less usage. It does have an overall larger footprint, but it's much better than AVG.

 

Hi,i recently switched from AVG to AVAST--AVAST does use a little more resources than AVG,i did`nt like that at first but after analyzing what avast can do compared avg----Avast is a more complete package overall than avg is,hence the reason it uses a little more resources.

 

EC. I switched from AVG to Avast because of it's easy automatic updating. I've never checked which uses the most resources, as it has never been a question of running one or the other to save resources. I keep the M$ resource meter running all the time, down near my clock, and keep it in the green unless I am running known resource hogs (together) when doing my daily housekeeping, after I log off the net. bazza
