avg problem

my avg 8.0.233 has been runing updates on its own for the last 2 days and everytime says update needs to be restarted any idea whats causing this because its getting on my nerves i open the user interface all looks normal exept the update manager says the update needs restart in red font which normaly indicates its offline or out of order if there is a way to fix this plz let me know tyvm in advance for help

 

Are you allowing the reboot or not? If NOT, then it will be very unhappy till you do.

yes i keep rebooting but it will run fine for a little while (random amounts of time) then the problem countinues

It sounds more like a setup problem than a real program problem.

In the update setup you can select what you want it to do when it needs a reboot.

In the past when I've had a problem with AVG FREE, I've just UN-Installed it, deleted its folder and downloaded and installed the very latest version.

I'm running AVG PRO right now and I've not had any problems since I installed it.
That's always an option.

I hope you're shutting down your PC when you're done with it for the day.
That's very important to the health and welfare of the OS, unless you're running a SERVER version of Windows.
