avg sucks?

I have heard that over the years AVG has gone down hill compared to others. Why?

I use it by the way. Have been for years wit no issues. But I don't want to use something that is now horrible. Don't need to sink with the ship as I am not the captain.

 

I'm going to quote plodr from post #6 in http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1611159#post1611159:
"Use what works for you; when it stops working, gets to bloated or causes the computer to slow down, try something else."

However, I will also mention that I switched from AVG to avast! on my Win XP system (512MB of RAM) about 6 months ago, as I recall. And, as I recall, one reason was that I felt that AVG's full hard drive took a long time and, if I were using the computer at the same time, very noticeably slowed the system.
