AVG Update Problems

I have a problem with AVG. I am trying to run it on a Win ME system, but after updating AVG 7.0, I let it restart, and upon the next boot, I accidentally closed out AVG before letting it install the update. Now everytime I run AVG, it says that it is updated and to restart the computer. This happens everytime. I tried uninstalling AVG and reinstalling it and updating it as well, but it still gives me this error... anyone have this happen to them? Thanks!
